Travel + Leisure’s list of top travel agents, which it calls the A-List, will now require a $4,000 a year payment for agents wanting to be included.

Travel + Leisure made the change recently and sent messages to A-List candidates. Getting on the list means special listing for agents on the T + L website, along with social media promotion, and placement in T + L’s print edition.

Travel + Leisure calls A-list agents “the ultimate travel planners.” They are selected out of hundreds of applications submitted by readers and agents.

Members of 2017's A-list didn't return Travel Market Report's request for comments.

Conde Nast Traveler's list of top travel specialists and Wendy Perrin's WOW list of top travel agents, will continue to remain fee-free according to reports.
