U.S. Approves Carnival Corp. for Cuban Travel
The U.S. Department of Treasury and Department of Commerce has granted Carnival Corp. a license for Cuban travel. The cruise line plans to begin sailing to the Caribbean island in May 2016 with Fathom, Carnival’s new brand for social-impact travel. The new DOT rules for Cuban travel allow tour companies to bring guests to the island to engage in activities to support the island nation. Seven-day sailings to Cuba will depart from Miami and will be priced at $2,990 per person.
