Over the past several days, Hurricane Ian has scattered cruise ships around the Caribbean and Bahamas. From canceled port call to unexpected overnights and ships stuck at sea, the impact on cruisers has been significant.

It’s not over yet. Overnight, yet more changes were announced.

Carnival Cruise Line
Due to the closure of PortMiami, today’s departure of Carnival Sunrise has been pushed back by 3.5 hours and embarking guests are being asked to delay their arrival. This may be extended.

Royal Caribbean
The September 30 departure of Independence of the Seas from Port Canaveral has been delayed by one full day as inspectors at the port survey any damage to determine if it is safe to resume regular operations. As a result, the ship’s planned call on Perfect Day at CocoCay is also cancelled. Affected guests may cancel for a full refund. Those who choose to sail will receive the value of two days of the cruise fare as a refundable onboard credit, as well a prorated refundable credit for any pre-cruise packages purchased, including RoyalUp.

Previously announced cancellations across all cruise lines include:

September 29
Carnival Paradise out of Tampa
Carnival Elation out of Jacksonville
MSC Divina out of Port Canaveral
Norwegian Getaway out of Port Canaveral

September 30
Carnival Liberty out of Port Canaveral
Disney Wish out of Port Canaveral
