Small-ship cruise line and Greek specialist Variety Cruises has appointed Steven Simao as vice president of sales for North America. He will be responsible for increasing brand awareness in the North American market.

"We are confident that his experience, passion and drive will add value to our North American and global teams and that our collaboration will generate outstanding results for us all in growing the North American market, by far representing 50% of our clientele," said Malvina Vonta, Variety Cruises' CCO.

Simao has more than 30 years of cruise industry experience having worked in a variety of positions at Norwegian Cruise Line, Holland America, and most recently at Windstar Cruises where he served as vice president of global sales. He brings solid relationships with all consortia, key accounts, and host agencies, as well as front-line travel advisors. He is based in Allentown, PA.

"With the growing consumer interest in small ship cruising, I am very excited to support the North American tour operator and travel agency community in growing their sales with Variety Cruises," Simao said.
