Contiki Enters the Philippines with Island-Hopping Trips
by Briana Bonfiglio /Contiki is introducing its very-first tours in the Philippines.
The tour operator, which gears its trips toward the 18-to-35 age group, has new 9-day and 13-day island hopping tours that cover tourist hotspots in the Philippines, including Puerto Princesa, Port Barton and El Nido, as well as hidden gems on Palawan Island.
“The Philippines is a major in-demand destination for travelers worldwide, particularly those from the Gen-Z demographic. We’re thrilled to now be satisfying that demand, on a trip that makes visiting the Philippines so very easy – and fun too,” says Adam Armstrong, CEO at Contiki. “We know that the Philippines can be challenging for solo travelers to navigate which is why we wanted to launch a trip that includes internal flights, boat transfers, and all other transport – along with all accommodation and delicious Filipino meals too.”
The new Philippines tours include stays at beachfront hotels and bamboo huts and experiences such as underground river tours, snorkeling, jewelry making, and more.
The 9-day tour offers stops in Puerto Princesa, Port Barton, and El Nido, and experiences such as a boat ride through the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Subterranean River National Park, a Jeepney ride to Nacpan Beach, a special Make Travel Matter stay at Daracoton Island, which contributes directly to locals, a Filipino-classic tricycle ride to Las Cabanas for a beach sunset, and a traditional boodle fight, as well as a visit to a local’s house for a homemade, locally grown Filipino meal.
The 13-day tour includes a 4-day boat expedition to hidden gems, such as Palawan Calamian’s Group of Islands (Northern Palawan archipelago) and famous attractions such as Coron islands, Cullion and Linapacan. It includes seaside camping, snorkeling, and a visit to Turtle Islands.
Contiki also recently announced its South Korean Soul itinerary, which departs on its first trip in April.
