Air Canada on Monday announced two new, daily transborder flights, both of which will kick off in December.

The first is a new, year-round Halifax to Newark service that will kick off on Dec. 16, operating on an Air Canad Express Q-4000 in an all-economy cabin configuration. The second is a year-round Vancouver to Houston route that will also start on Dec. 16 on an Air Canada Airbus A220 with business and economy cabins onboard.

Air Canada’s senior vice president of network planning and revenue Management Mark Galardo said that both routes are “meeting demand” in important markets for Air Canada.

“These routes will give customers in Atlantic and Western Canada more convenient options for flying to the U.S. They will reinforce the already strong links between Atlantic Canada and New York, while for customers in Western Canada they will provide more options for reaching destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean through United Airlines’ Houston hub,” he said.

The additions are just a couple of the many that Air Canada has made since 2019, a trend that has led to a 6% growth of its U.S. network since 2019. It currently serves 51 U.S. airports and had a codeshare with United Airlines.
