Abercrombie & Kent Launches Two New Luxury Expedition Cruises for 2020
by Jessica Montevago /Imagine a sweeping 48-day voyage in the Arctic that combines all of the Abercrombie & Kent (A&K) luxury offerings and spans five Arctic regions.
For the first time, guests can combine all three of the tour operator’s Artic voyages into one 48-day Arctic expedition on the new “Grand Arctic Voyage,” experiencing everything from varied wildlife, geological wonders, and endless wilderness, to fabled cultures, deep in the heart of the Arctic. The trip visits five-distinct Arctic regions: the wild Svalbard archipelago, stunning Iceland, Greenland, the remote Canadian Arctic, and the vast Bering Sea. The journey departs on July 31, 2020, on the exclusively chartered, all-balcony Le Boreal, with all-balcony accommodations.
A&K is also launching the “Ultimate Iceland & Greenland” cruise next year. From Aug. 13-27, guests will go on an immersive adventure featuring a treasure trove of Viking history. They will discover the rugged and remote coastlines of Iceland’s stunning Westfjords, and retrace the pioneering trails of Erik the Red and other historic adventurers that ultimately led to the discovery of North America. They will join returning itinerates on the “Arctic Cruise Adventure: In Search of the Polar Bear” and the “Northwest Passage: From Greenland to the Bering Sea.”
These sailings include A&K’s Expedition Team, made up of historians, geologists, ornithologists, botanists, and marine biologists, as well as a team of field naturalists and Zodiac driver-guides.
The trips also have a dedicated photo coach, allowing guests to hone their skills with lectures and hands-on workshops for both experts and budding photographers alike.
Expedition cruises include onboard meals and house drinks, Zodiac excursions, expedition gear, port charges, gratuities, laundry service, and complimentary WiFi.
