Contiki Launches First Itinerary in Georgia
by Dori Saltzman /Contiki, the tour company for 18-to-35-year-olds, will be heading to the country of Georgia for the first time next summer. The 10-day itinerary begins in Georgia’s capital, Tbilisi, and visits the country’s most famous attractions.
Travelers will get to see five UNESCO World Heritage sites during the trip – including a traditional winery that makes wine using giant clay jars, the 3,000-year-old capital city, and one of the highest permanently-settled villages in Europe. Other highlights are a visit to Martvili Canyon, the Caucasus and its glacier.
“We’re excited to be launching new products for next year,” said Natasha Lawrence, commercial and product development director at Contiki. “We’ve had Georgia in our sights for a while. As a destination, it’s clearly one of the rising stars on the global tourism scene – with unique history and heritage, and a nightlife scene that could rival Prague or Berlin. We found that more and more of our travelers were asking for it. So, we delivered it.”
The 10-day tour will depart in June 2023.
