Lufthansa Extends Seat-Selection Fee to Long-Haul Flights

Beginning April 28, Lufthansa will charge a fee of $35 in the U.S. and €25 in Europe for advance seat selection in W, S, T, L and K booking classes on long-haul flights. Passengers who select seats at check-in (up to 23 hours before departure) will not pay a fee. Lufthansa has charged for seat selection in the same booking classes on domestic, European and northern Africa flights since November; those fees are $15 and €10.
