African Travel Inc. Will Required COVID Vaccinations on All 2022 Group Safaris
by Daniel McCarthy /African Travel Inc., the luxury safari operator from The Travel Corp., will require all guests on its 2022 group safaris to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
The move makes African Travel one of the first U.S. safari outfitters to require COVID-19 vaccinations for its guests.
“This decision ensures our commitment to our guests that their well-being is our top priority,” Sherwin Banda, African Travel Inc.’s president said. “It is essential that we take personal responsibility to help protect each other, the people, and the places we visit.”
Starting on Jan. 1, 2022, all guests traveling in non-family groups of 10 or more will need to provide proof of an approved vaccination prior to joining the safari. The approved vaccine list includes Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, and Johnson & Johnson. The final dose must be given at least 15 days prior to the start of the safari.
The requirement is on top of PCR requirements from airlines and governments in Africa, which are changing and differ from country to country.
