American Airlines this week officially started operating three new flights into Cancun International Airport.

The new additions are nonstop flights from Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, Nashville International Airport, and Pittsburgh International Airport.

The additions bring American up to 40 daily flights into Cancun from the U.S. on its winter schedule through March. That marks not only a high point for American—it is now flying its largest Cancun schedule airport—but also gives the carrier more flights into Cancun than any other U.S. airline.

Aside from Cancun, American also operates a busy schedule in other Yucatan Peninsula airports—American operates six peak-day flights into Cozumel and two daily flights into Merida. Starting on March 28, the carrier will also launch four daily nonstop at the new Tulum International Airport.
