American Airlines and Canada’s Porter Airlines have signed a new codeshare partnership that will open up deeper travel into the U.S. and Canada, respectively, for both carriers.
Effective immediately, American will place its code on select Porter flights from Toronto Pearson (YYZ), including Porter’s cross-border flights between Toronto and Phoenix Sky Harbor International (PHX), and its domestic flights from Toronto to Edmonton (YEG), Halifax (YHZ), Ottawa (YOW), Victoria (YYJ), and Winnipeg (YWG).
In the coming weeks, American will add more of Porter’s flights to the partnership, including Calgary (YYC), Charlottetown (YYG), Kelowna (YLW), St. John’s (YYT), Saskatoon (YXE), and Vancouver (YVR).
On the other side, Porter is adding four new American destinations to its network: Charlotte (CLT), Chicago O’Hare (ORD), Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), and Philadelphia (PHL). Seven more cities will open for sale “in the coming weeks,” highlighted by Honolulu (HNL), Nashville (BNA), and New Orleans (MSY).
American AAdvantage members purchasing a codeshare flight operated by Porter will earn both AAdvantage miles and Loyalty Points for travel.
