Qantas will soon become the first airline to fly direct between Las Vegas and Australia when it debuts a Las Vegas-to-Sydney route in December.
The seasonal flights, now available to book, will run three times per week on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, from Dec. 29, 2026 through March 12, 2027. Round-trip fare prices begin at $999 for economy seats on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
Don Farrell, Australia’s minister for trade and tourism, called the new service a major win for U.S. travelers, making it easier than ever to visit Australia.
“The flow of people between our countries has never been stronger,” Farrell said. “Last year 745,000 Americans visited Australia, and we look forward to welcoming even more visitors down under with the commencement of these new direct flights.”
Las Vegas now marks the sixth U.S. city that Qantas flies out of, joining Los Angeles, San Francisco, Honolulu, Dallas, and New York.
Steve Hill, president and CEO of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, noted that the new service is a testament to the strength of the Australian market for the city.
“Australia has consistently ranked as our second-largest overseas market and our top international market without a non-stop flight,” Hill said. “More than 250,000 Australians visit each year, drawn by the breadth and depth of experiences Las Vegas offers. We are grateful to Qantas for their partnership and confidence in our city.”
Qantas currently operates charter flights in partnership with the National Rugby League (NRL) from Australia’s East Coast to Las Vegas. The NRL flights have been in operation for two years and just sold out for a third year in a row.
