Australian experiential tourism group Journey Beyond has announced the appointment of Jennifer Vandekreeke as managing director, experiences & attractions.

Vandekreeke brings to the role more than 25 years’ experience in the global tourism industry. Her background spans the cruise, experiences, and premium attractions sectors, and she has held senior leadership roles. Most recently, she served as the CEO of URBNSURF, the world’s first multi-park surf park operator.

“From Whitehaven Beach to Horizontal Falls, no other tourism portfolio offers access to destinations as iconic and spectacular as this. I’m excited to join Journey Beyond and work with such a talented team as we immerse our guests in the very best of Australia,” said Vandekreeke.

As managing director, Vandekreeke will lead Journey Beyond’s Experiences & Attractions division, which was created as part of a company-wide restructure back in May. The division focuses on the tourism group’s day experiences portfolio, which includes Cruise Whitsundays, Rottnest Express, Horizontal Falls Seaplane Adventures, Exmouth Dive & Whalesharks Ningaloo, Sailaway Port Douglas, Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre, Darwin Harbour Cruises, Melbourne Skydeck & Eureka 89, and Journey Beyond Cruise Sydney. She will be based in Sydney.

“We are excited to welcome Jennifer to Journey Beyond,” said Chris Tallent, Journey Beyond’s CEO. “Jennifer will lead our Experiences & Attractions division at an exciting time of growth, with responsibility for driving commercial performance, strengthening and elevating our guest experience even further, building the best employee experience and successfully integrating new businesses into our expanding portfolio.”
