TSA PreCheck Adds Two New Airlines

The Transportation Security Administration has added two new airlines to its PreCheck program, allowing members more opportunity to skip the line at security.

Caribbean Airlines and RED Air are now part of the program, giving the program close to 100 airline members overall.

Caribbean Airlines is the flag carrier of Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica and mostly serves the Caribbean from North and South America. RED Air, which operates out of the Dominican Republic, is a low-cost leisure airline that serves La Romana and Santo Domingo from Miami and Caracas, Venezuela.

PreCheck is the most popular trusted traveler program, hitting 20 million active members last month, just 10 years after having launched in December 2013. It’s growing at more than 30% per year, too.

PreCheck allows members to use a separate security lane and wear their shoes, belts, and light jackets through screening. Users are also able to keep their laptops and approved liquids in their carry-ons.

Members start at $77.95 for five years depending on the enrollment provider that applicants choose. Members can then renew up to six months before expiration starting at $68.95. The TSA allows teenagers to go through with their parents or guardian without membership as long as they are on the same reservation and children 12 and under can go without restriction.
