A San Francisco-bound United Airlines flight from Beijing experienced a terrifying engine fire during takeoff yesterday.

According to AviationA2Z.com, Flight UA889, operated by a Boeing 777 experienced a critical mechanical failure moments after departure began.

As the Boeing 777 accelerated along the runway, its right engine erupted into flames, forcing the pilots to abort the takeoff immediately.

As reported by the Daily Mail, there were no injuries, and airport officials coordinated with United Airlines to manage the disrupted travel plans.
