United Airlines will resume flights between Newark and Tel Aviv, Israel on March 2 as “the first step in restoring vital passenger and cargo service that suspended in October.”

The airline will provide flights from Newark International Airport on March 2 and 4 that will stop in Munich, then pause on March 3 and 5, and resume nonstop service starting March 6.

“United conducted a detailed safety analysis in making this decision, including close work with security experts and government officials in the United States and Israel,” the airline said in a statement. “We also worked closely with the Air Line Pilots Association and the Association of Flight Attendants to develop the protocols to ensure they are safe and well-informed.”

The resumed flights are now available for booking. United says it will look to resume its twice-daily flights between Newark and Tel Aviv as soon as May. The airline will also re-evaluate its Tel Aviv service at Chicago-O’Hare, Washington-Dulles, and San Fransisco by this fall.
