Amadeus Launches Hotel Package for Large TMCs

by Michèle McDonald  January 05, 2012

Amadeus launched a Hotel Optimization Package for large travel agencies and travel management companies that addresses the need for more control over global hotel programs and for a one-stop-shop for hotel content.

The new hotel program can be contracted as a full package or in modules.

Among solutions included in Amadeus’ Hotel Optimization Package are:

•    Amadeus Hotel Dynamic Saver, a multi-GDS business intelligence solution that helps TMCs and their clients maintain high savings standards and ensure hotel contract compliance. It includes last room availability, identification of rate squatters and automatic future comparison of negotiated vs. public rates.

Amadeus said Dynamic Saver can achieve savings of 10% on total hotel expenditures. For a typical Fortune 500 corporation, savings on hotels could add up to $1.6 million annually.

•    Integration of hotel aggregator content. Amadeus said it has a strong pipeline of hotel aggregators that are being integrated across all its travel agency point-of-sale solutions. The first to be integrated last year were Destinations of the World and Transhotel, with a total inventory of more than 50,000 hotels.

•    Amadeus LinkHotel, a customized, fast-track service that enables quick integration of specific hotels requested by travel agencies and their corporate customers that currently are not bookable on the GDS (for instance, hotels close to remote manufacturing sites).

Amadeus currently connects more than 6,000 hotels to the GDS universe for real-time reservations through LinkHotel.

•    A contract compliance tool that drives smarter booking behavior at the point of sale.
