Hawaiian Airlines recently announced that tickets are now available for the new flight service between Honolulu and Tokyo. The new service is set to begin flying from Honolulu’s Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) to Tokyo Haneda (HND), on Mar. 28, 2020, just a few months ahead of the 2020 Olympic Summer Games.

“As the leading U.S. carrier for service between Japan and Hawai‘i, we are pleased to offer our guests convenient and effortless travel options by adding a third daily flight between Tokyo Haneda and Hawai‘i,” said Theo Panagiotoulias, senior vice president of global sales and alliances, at Hawaiian Airlines.

Hawaiian Airlines was the first U.S. carrier to serve Tokyo Haneda back in 2010, stimulating further growth in the market over the last nine years. Today, the Honolulu/Tokyo market is the largest U.S.-Japan city pair with more than 2,300 passengers per day each way.

Hawaiian currently operates 31 weekly nonstop flights between Japan and Hawaii, using a fleet of wide-body Airbus A330 aircraft. The airline also intends to further expand its service network by flying four weekly routes between Fukuoka and Honolulu, beginning Nov. 26.
