Travelport Updates Smartpoint Based on Agents’ Input
by Michèle McDonaldTravelport released an updated version of its Smartpoint point-of-sale application with enhancements aimed at increasing efficiency.
Many of the changes are based on feedback from travel agents, the company said.
Scott Pawley, managing director of Global Travel Management in Woking, U.K., who tested the new version, said the “modern” desktop “makes my agents happy.”
Mapping capability
New features include interactive graphical mapping capability and virtual account number payment functionality from eNett, a secure, integrated payment solution embedded in the agent’s desktop environment.
Smartpoint also has a new look and feel that Travelport says will make it easier to find relevant travel options.
It also includes enhanced hotel shopping, intelligent fare rules and advanced seat maps that are capable of showcasing all features of a seat.
110,000 users
Travelport Smartpoint was launched in 2011 and is now used by more than 110,000 agents around the world.
It provides a blend of graphical and cryptic environments, along with a range of features designed to improve productivity and speed up the reservations process.
