Travel advisors who book their clients onto Authentic Vacations tours should be aware that the operator has resigned as an USTOA Active Member as of April 27, 2022. Accordingly, the company no longer participates in the USTOA $1 Million Travelers Assistance Program.

“Travel agents should be aware that purchases of Authentic Vacations products made prior to April 27, 2022, shall continue to be protected under the USTOA $1 Million Travelers Assistance Program,” said USTOA president and CEO Terry Dale. “Client deposits and payments thereafter will not be covered by the USTOA program.”

According to Authentic Vacations, their resignation from USTOA is due to a change in its business model.

“We have valued our relationship with USTOA,” said Simon Russell, CEO of Authentic Vacations. “And we wish everyone in the travel and tourism industry much success in the future as we all rebuild, adapt, and grow our businesses.”

“Authentic Vacations wants to assure our clients that this departure from USTOA in no way leaves their travel unprotected,” he added. “We are financially stronger than ever, our clients’ deposits and payments are secure, and they are protected in numerous ways.”
