Contiki, the tour company serving travelers ages 18 to 35, reported the best three booking days in its history over this year’s Black Friday and Cyber Monday weekend. Even better, the company said that sales attributed to travel advisors was four times higher when compared to 2021 sales.
“Travelers are hitting the ground running with their travel plans for 2023,” said Melissa DaSilva, president of Contiki, North America. “After a couple of years of uncertainty and restrictions within the travel industry, travelers are finally at a place where they can book that big trip they’ve been dreaming about with confidence. Young travelers want to make up for lost time by booking longer trips to multiple countries, so they can knock places off their bucket lists in one trip. The travel industry is definitely back on the rise and coming back stronger than ever.”
Sales versus last year’s Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend were up 186%, and for the year to date, sales are up 38% versus last year and up 25% versus 2019.
