After receiving updated guidance from the Centers of Disease Control (CDC), Delta Air Lines is adding change fee waivers for travel through four Italian airports.

Delta, which was already offering changes free of charge to Shanghai, Beijing, and Seoul through April 30, will allow travelers scheduled to travel through Bologna, Milan, Turin, and Venice through March 15 to change their plans fee-free.

Delta is one of the first major U.S. airlines to issue flight waivers for Italy.

“Delta maintains an ongoing relationship with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization, the world’s foremost experts on communicable diseases. During periods of acute concern we stay in constant contact with these partners, as well as health officials in the affected areas,” Delta said in its announcement.

“We have adjusted travel schedules, waived change fees for affected destinations and are working with customers to adjust travel plans, using relationships with other airlines when needed.”

All passengers, regardless of airline, who are boarding a flight to the U.S. will still be asked if they have visited mainland China (excluding Hong Kong and Macau) within the past 14 days. If they have, they will be redirected to one of 11 airports for a health screening.
