Delta Air Lines is rolling out new state-of-the-art pet travel carriers, which would provide travelers with real-time updates on the status of their pets. The airline is launching this new carrier through its exclusive partnership with CarePod, a company that provides travel solutions for air travelers with pets.
The new CarePod carriers will officially be introduced following the results of a two-month trial period, and will be offered exclusively at eight U.S. locations across Delta’s network, including: Atlanta, Boston, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York (JFK and LaGuardia), San Francisco and West Palm Beach. There are also plans in the works to phase in the CarePod pet travel carrier across the rest of Delta’s U.S. network.
The CarePod travel carrier has a variety of features that set it apart, from stronger industrial strength walls and insulation that shields pets from sudden temperature changes, to multi-layered doors and windows designed to create a more relaxing environment. The CarePod also features the world’s first built-in hydration system for pet travel carriers, with a spill-proof water bowl and carry-capacity of up to a liter of water, which will automatically refill ensuring pets always have easy access to fresh water.
But the carrier’s most innovative feature is the powerful GPS tracking and monitoring system connected to the specialized Delta Cargo Control Center, staffed with trained experts who supervise and digitally monitor every CarePod pet journey from beginning to end. This feature also gives travelers the ability to monitor their pet’s status using their mobile phone.
