Specialty Cruise Line Unveils Agent Site
Hurtigruten, a Norwegian company that operates small-ship cruises to the Norwegian fjords, Greenland, Spitsbergen and other exotic parts of the world, launched a dedicated Web site for travel agents.
The site includes booking capability and access to the Hurtigruten Academy, a comprehensive online seminar in which agents can learn about the company and its cruise products.

Amadeus Introduces ‘Virtual Agency’ in Germany
Amadeus Germany will introduce a Virtual Travel Agency Solution that enables travel agencies to outsource their software to a secure data processing center. The solution’s pilot program is expected to be completed by the end of June.
The system can be accessed from anywhere at any time, regardless of hardware, local operating system and network connection.
Access is arranged through a simple login. Agents also can choose to outsource standard software, such as Microsoft Office, to the system as well as the Amadeus Selling Platform.
Saudi Carrier Migrates to Next-Gen IT Platform
Saudi Arabian Airlines completed its migration to the Reservation and Inventory modules of the next-generation Amadeus Altéa Customer Management System and core components of the Amadeus e-Commerce suite.
The move is part of an overall modernization program at the carrier. The Altéa CMS replaces the airline’s legacy IT platform that it used for 20 years.
Amex Includes ‘Command Post’ with Business Continuity Suite
American Express Business Travel is offering its automated central command post complimentary for customers who implement its business continuity suite.
The suite includes traveler tracking and instant messaging tools that are necessary during a crisis. The core command post solution serves as a hub for the tools.
