Uniworld Amends 2020 Cancellation Policy Due to Coronavirus
by Daniel McCarthy /Uniworld is giving guests more time to make a decision about their 2020 travel plans as coronavirus spreads to areas around the world.
Uniworld will allow guests booked on 2020 cruises leaving May 1 or later to cancel their sailings at 30 days prior to departure with the 120+ day cancellation rate of $200 per person.
No Uniworld River Cruise has yet been impacted by coronavirus spread, according to the company.
The company has put in place a number of precautions, similair to other travel companies, that it hopes will help protect guests.
“For precautionary measures, guests will be asked to take a health declaration and questionnaire before boarding all Uniworld ships. Guests who have traveled from or through mainland China within 14 days of beginning their trip will not be permitted to embark on any Uniworld ship,” Uniworld’s website reads.
“If an upcoming guest had close contact with or helped care for anyone suspected or diagnosed with Covid-19 within 14 days before embarkation, they will not be permitted onboard.”
