Video: How to Talk to Clients About the CDC’s Mexico Warning
by Daniel McCarthyThe U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently said that all U.S. citizens should avoid travel to Mexico because of “very high level of COVID-19” in the country.
The warning reads that “travel may increase your chance of getting and spreading COVID-19” and that, if you choose to go, get viral tested 1-3 days before your trip, wear a mask during travel, and get another viral test both before coming back to the U.S. and within 1-3 days of arriving.
While the news is a negative, especially for advisors who have found recent success selling Mexico because of the country’s closer-to-normal travel rules when compared to other international destinations, advisors can still help their clients who want to travel to Mexico by giving them the specific information they need in order to make that decision and staff safe.
During last week’s MasterAdvisor session on selling destinations in the age of COVID-19, Martindale Travel’s Adam Martindale, who has experienced the destination first-hand a number of times since COVID-19 began, spoke about how he is dealing with the CDC’s recent warning and what he’s telling his clients.
