Air Canada Named One of Canada’s Best Diversity Employees for Eighth Time
by Marsha Mowers
For the eighth time, Air Canada has been named one of Canada’s Best Diversity Employers for 2026. The recognition reflects the company’s continued commitment to building a more inclusive workplace and advancing equity across the aviation industry.
The airline says it supports inclusion through strategic partnerships, employee-led initiatives, and proactive outreach to diverse communities during recruitment.
Those key efforts include:
- Connecting with underrepresented communities to promote career opportunities in aviation.
- Partnering with Canadian organizations and specialized colleges to provide scholarships for aspiring pilots and aircraft maintenance engineers from underrepresented groups.
- Implementing a strong internal governance framework that embeds inclusion and belonging at every level of the organization.
- Celebrating the diversity of its workforce through Employee Resource Groups and Inclusion Champions.
“We’re proud to be recognized for our ongoing commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. This award spotlights how our employees, resource groups, champions, leaders, and community partners work together to build a more fair, equitable, and inclusive future where everyone feels they belong,” said Arielle Meloul-Wechsler, Executive Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer and Public Affairs at Air Canada.
Canada’s Best Diversity Employers recognizes organizations that demonstrate leadership in fostering inclusive workplaces for employees from five underrepresented groups: women, visible minorities, persons with disabilities, Indigenous peoples, and individuals who self-identify as members of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities. Employers are selected by the editors of Mediacorp as part of the annual Canada’s Top 100 Employers project.
Air Canada has also recently been named one of Canada’s Top Employers for Young People for 2026.
