Azamara Cruises has unveiled an all-new destination immersion program that lets guests “Discover What the Locals Know” through small-group excursions led by locals.
“Today’s travelers want to connect more deeply by sharing meals where locals gather, celebrating regional traditions, and exploring everyday life with a fresh perspective,” said Dondra Ritzenthaler, CEO of Azamara Cruises. “That’s what ‘Discover What the Locals Know’ offers: a reimagined approach to cruise travel that brings guests closer to the heart of each destination. Whether it’s walking the quiet waterfront in Gythion, Greece, or visiting the hillside village of Şirince, Turkey, these unscripted moments create lasting impressions, and Azamara is proud to make them possible.”
The small-group excursions, led by locals, will be available on Azamara’s 2026/27 Mediterranean sailings, which run from fall through Spring. Options will include activities such as entry to European film festivals and artisan workshops, or watch as olives are harvested, then taste the season’s first pressing straight from the source.
