Uniworld to Add Three New Ships in 2028 Expansion

Uniworld Boutique River Cruises will add three new ships in 2028—the S.S. Helen, the S.S. Clara, and the Mekong Mystique.

Each of the new vessels will sail a different river, designed with the art, history, and culture of its destination in mind.

Named after Helen of Troy, the S.S. Helen will sail the Danube and feature the 15-day “Danube Grandeur” itinerary. The S.S. Clara, named after 17th-century Flemish painter Clara Peeters, will join the Rhine fleet and debut on the popular “Holland & Belgium at Tulip Time” sailing. Meanwhile, the Mekong Mystique will sail through Vietnam and Cambodia on the “Timeless Wonders of Vietnam, Cambodia & the Mekong” itinerary.

With these additions and the four ships debuting in 2027, Uniworld’s fleet will reach 22 ships total. While that remains a deliberate, small-ship model compared to mid-sized competitors like AmaWaterways (over 30 ships) and giant market leaders like Viking (over 90 river vessels), it represents one of the largest expansion pushes in Uniworld’s history.

Bookings for Uniworld’s 2028 season are now open.
