Riu Guanacaste Reopens; Advisors Can Earn 3X RIU Partner Club Points

Riu Guanacaste in Costa Rica has reopened following an extensive refurbishment and travel advisors can take advantage of Sunwing Vacations’ RIU October promotion which is offering 3X RIU Partner Club Points on select vacation packages.

The property officially reopened earlier this week following an extensive refurbishment that has transformed its guest rooms, communal spaces, restaurants, bars, and the RIU Land children’s area. Originally opened in 2009 on Matapalo Beach, the resort is the RIU Hotels & Resorts’ first property in Costa Rica.

Following the addition of 300 new rooms last year, Riu Guanacaste now offers 1,041 fully redesigned accommodations, each brighter, more spacious, and crafted for maximum guest comfort. The lobby has been reimagined with an open, functional layout that creates a welcoming first impression, while the outdoor areas now feature new shaded spaces and beautifully landscaped gardens. The pool zone has undergone a complete transformation and now includes six pools, three of which feature swim-up bars, providing guests with a variety of relaxing and social settings.

Culinary offerings have also been elevated with a broader range of dining concepts. Guests can now enjoy Asian, Mexican, and Italian restaurants, a classic steakhouse, and two buffet restaurants featuring live cooking stations. New additions include two Pepe’s Food snack stations serving freshly grilled fare, two Tiki Taco stations offering Mexican-style tacos, and a charming new Candy ice cream parlour. The Sports Bar has adopted a lively American country-inspired theme, serving an à la carte menu and beverages 24 hours a day.

Families will appreciate the completely renovated RIU Land children’s area, designed for fun and creativity. All guests can also continue to enjoy Splash Water World, the resort’s exciting water park, as well as RIU Party, a series of weekly themed events open to guests of both RIU hotels in Costa Rica.
