I sat down in a very smoky Toronto yesterday with Latia Duncombe, Director General of the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, and, naturally, she wasted no time reminding me that The Bahamas offers a much clearer alternative. We talked about the destination’s impressive growth from Canada, the appointment of the Hon. Glenys Hanna-Martin as the country’s first female Minister of Tourism, expanded airlift, and the new “More Bahamas” offer featuring a US$250 credit on qualifying packages. We also explored the importance of travelling beyond Nassau, the growing role of technology and AI, and why travel advisors remain absolutely critical in turning travel inspiration into real bookings.
