Regent Seven Seas Extending Final Payment Date Due to Coronavirus

Regent Seven Seas is moving to help put some traveler trepidation due to coronavirus at ease.
Regent’s Executive Vice President Randall Soy sent a letter to its travel advisor partners this week, saying that the line will defer the final payment period, for all sailings where the final payment is due within the next 30 days, until 60 days before sailing.
“We recognize that your clients may be hesitant in these times and turning to you for counsel,” Soy wrote in the letter.
With the change, Regent becomes one of a number of suppliers who are making changes to cancellation and payment policies to help advisors, and consumers, deal with the impact of coronavirus.
Uniworld yesterday announced that it would allow guests booked on 2020 cruises leaving May 1 or later to cancel their sailings at 30 days prior to departure with the 120+ day cancellation rate of $200 per person.
Also, JetBlue announced that it would allow free cancellations and changes on new bookings because of coronavirus.
