Royal Makes Its Official Return to the Caribbean

Royal Caribbean International’s Adventure of the Seas set sail from Nassau, The Bahamas on Saturday, June 12, marking the cruise line’s highly anticipated return to the Caribbean. Adventure will sail a summer full of 7-night cruises from Nassau to Perfect Day at CocoCay, Royal Caribbean’s top-rated private island destination, Grand Bahama, The Bahamas and Cozumel, Mexico.
On Sunday, after an 18-month absence from the region, Royal Caribbean International officially made its return to the Caribbean.
Royal’s Adventure of the Seas welcomed guests and set sail from Nassau, The Bahamas on Sunday, giving more than 1,000 guests the opportunity to once again take to the seas.
The ship sailed with a fully vaccinated crew and a vaccination mandate for all guests over 16-years-old. According to Royal, 94% of guests onboard were vaccinated, and those that weren’t, which were guests under 16-years-old, had to provide proof of a negative test in order to get onboard.
Adventure kicked off the first of a series of 7-night sailings that include stops at Perfect Day at CocoCay, Grand Bahama Island, The Bahamas; and Cozumel, Mexico.
In a statement, Royal president and CEO Michael Bayley said this was “just the beginning” of Royal Caribbean’s comeback story that includes 11 ships set to start sailing from the U.S. and Europe starting in July and August.
“The return of Adventure of the Seas marks a start in the tremendous step forward our guests have been waiting for and we’ve been working toward for more than 15 months. This is all possible thanks to the government of The Bahamas, the support of our partners and the hard work of our teams across Royal Caribbean,” Bayley said.
“We are excited to welcome back our guests and crew, and help our Caribbean family regain the benefits of tourism their communities depend on. This is just the beginning, as we get ready to set sail from the U.S. for the first time on July 2.”
