11 Travel Deals In Honor Of Veterans Day

Travel professionals booking for the men and women who serve in America’s armed forces can get their clients special discounts in honor of Veteran’s Day from many travel suppliers. Here are a few: 

1. Pleasant Holidays
Pleasant Holidays has a year-round 10% Military Travel Discount. The program applies to all active U.S. military personnel and their immediate families, as well as military personnel who have been honorably discharged within 30 days of travel. The discount is valid on all Pleasant Holidays vacation packages and cruises, with no holiday blackout dates for travel and no maximum vacation price per booking.

2. Insight Vacations
Veterans or current military personnel, and a companion sharing the same room, can each receive $100 off all Insight Vacations tours.

3. National Parks
The U.S. National Park Service is waiving fees at most of its day-use recreation sites over the Veterans Day holiday weekend.

4. Westgate Resorts
Westgate Resorts is giving away 1,000 free vacations on Veteran’s Day. The first 1,000 eligible service members who complete the online military appreciation form and place a fully refundable $75 deposit will receive a complimentary three-day, two-night vacation for up to four people at the Westgate Town Center Resort in Orlando, from May 5-7, 2017.

5. Carnival Cruise Line
Active or retired U.S. military and Canadian National Defense members can take advantage of Carnival’s military sale, which gives 50% reduced deposits, $50 onboard credit per cabin and free upgrades onboard. 
The sale is available until Monday, Nov. 14, on itineraries scheduled through April 2019.

6. MSC Cruises
MSC gives active and retired military personnel—plus family members including spouses, parents, in-laws and dependent children—a full 10% off balcony staterooms, suites and MSC Yacht Club rooms on select sailings. MSC also lets veterans take 5% off ocean view and interior staterooms.

7. Royal Caribbean International
Any active or retired person serving in the Canadian National Defense or U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, National Guard or Reserves can get a discount onselect Royal Caribbean cruises. Check with your BDM to see which sailings are eligible.

8. Norwegian Cruise Line
Norwegian gives military and their families up to 10% savings. Any veteran or active duty military, National Guard or reserve member can check out which sailings are eligible for the discount on Norwegian’s website.

9. Princess Cruises
Princess is giving American and Canadian military members up to $250 in free onboard spending money to thank them for their service. The offer is valid on any cruise and can be accessed by completing a Military Benefit Application Form on the Princess website and submitting it before booking.

10. Southwest Airlines
Southwest offers special fares to active personnel and their families, depending on route and time of year.

11. United Airlines
United offers U.S. active duty or retired military veterans and their families members a discount of to 5% off tickets for United and United Express.
