American Cruise Lines has named its newest riverboat the American Song. The ship is set to debut in fall 2018 on the Mississippi River.

According to the line, American Song will be the first ship in the line’s Modern Riverboat Series, and the first to replace the cruise line’s classic paddlewheel design with a more modern look. It is currently being built at the Chesapeake Shipbuilding yard in Maryland.

It will be “wider, faster, and quieter than any other river cruise ship,” and will feature a four-story glass atrium giving guests a place to take in views of the outside at all times. It will also offer golf on a shipboard putting green, as well as bocce and croquet.

The line says that American Song will boast the cruise company’s largest staterooms, and the largest in the entire industry, with an owner’s suite at 445 square feet. It will also offer private furnished balconies in all of its 100-plus staterooms. Solo cabins will be available for single travelers, all of which also have balconies.

The ship is the third of three new builds from the company. The first, Constellation, debuted in May 2017. The other, American Constitution, is set to be delivered next year.

After spending its inaugural season on the Mississippi, American Song will then head to the west coast in 2019, where it will sail itineraries on the Columbia and Snake Rivers. Reservations are now open.
