The Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) has added five new professional development programs for travel agents, which are available to both CLIA member agents and nonmember agents.

“At CLIA, we are proud to offer the industry’s leading professional development programs and courses to CLIA travel agency and individual agent members, as well as nonmember travel professionals,” said Stephani McDow, CLIA’s director of membership and professional development.

The new courses are: Converting Prospects to Customers, which gives advice on how to close more bookings; Personal Branding, which provides agents with tips on how to stand out in the market; The New Face of Luxury, a fast-paced seminar that offers agents the tools to tap into the luxury cruise market; Customer Relationship Management, which provides agents with an introduction to customer relations management systems (CRMs) and demonstrates how the systems can benefit their sales, service, and marketing efforts; and Developing Your Marketing Strategy, which gives agents details on a proven marketing model.

“As the cruising industry changes and grows, our travel agent community continues to adapt and find new ways to contribute to cruise vacation sales, bringing in a large portion of cruise bookings year after year,” McDow added.

The courses are now available for $29 for CLIA members and $59 for nonmembers. They are accessible on the CLIA agent training portal.
