German luxury cruise line Hapag-Lloyd, which recently announced it is going fully bilingual, is simplifying its pricing structure with a two-fare system for all new bookings. This streamlined structure replaces the current three-tier system. The line also announced that fares will include a selection of included soft drinks starting Jan. 3, 2026.

Starting immediately, guests can choose either the Platinum or Silver fare option when booking a Hapag-Lloyd cruise.

With the Platinum option, guests get more flexibility including one free rebooking up to 90 days before departure and cancellations possible up to 180 days before departure for a small fee. (Timeline is adjusted for voyages of 22+ days and for top suite categories.)

Platinum also include free choice of cabin/suite and deck, and early booking access to shore excursions.

The Silver option remains the same as before with the cabin/suite and deck assigned by Hapag-Lloyd and access to shore excursions at 14 days after they’re opened for booking.

“Our goal is to make booking decisions easier for guests,” said Clas Eckholt, vice president commercial, for TUI Cruises (the parent company of Hapag-Lloyd). “With two fares and more flexible options in the Platinum fare, guests gain greater clarity and freedom in planning their trips.”

Starting Jan. 3, 2026, both Hapag-Lloyd fares will also include a selection of included soft drinks throughout the day. Other inclusive services in both fares remain the same, such as Champagne on arrival, daily refilled minibar, 24-hour cabin service, and all meals.
