Holland America Line Expands Live Music Offerings on Oosterdam and Zuiderdam

Holland America Line will introduce poolside bandstands on Oosterdam and Zuiderdam, providing an additional venue for live performances on both ships.

The new bandstands, part of the cruise line’s Evolution refurbishment initiative, will expand opportunities for guests to enjoy live performances throughout their cruise, with the first venue set to debut on Oosterdam following its Evolution transformation in fall 2027.

“Evolution is about bringing the very best of Holland America Line to more of our fleet,” said Beth Bodensteiner, president of Holland America Line. “Over the past several years, we’ve been on a journey to expand and elevate our entertainment offerings across the fleet, guided by what our guests tell us they love most. The new Lido Pool bandstands are another step in that effort, creating more opportunities to enjoy live music and memorable performances in one of the ship’s most popular gathering spaces.”

Programming at the new venue will include a variety of musical acts, from solo performers to energetic live bands, along with events connected to Holland America Line’s signature Orange Party and other guest-favorite traditions. The Lido Pool’s retractable glass roof allows guests to enjoy the space throughout the voyage, rain or shine. 

The largest fleet update in the company’s 153-year history, Holland America Evolution is revitalizing six Vista and Signature Class ships with a blend of Pinnacle Class-inspired experiences, new offerings and guest favorites. The company will invest more than $500 million across the ships to enhance guest spaces, introduce new venues and add additional staterooms and suites that provide more choice for travelers. Oosterdam and Zuiderdam are the first two ships in the program.
