HX Expeditions isn’t leaving the Galapagos any time soon. The cruise line has extended its partnership with Metropolitan Touring for another three years. The original five-year charter agreement will now continue through 2029.
“As we welcome 130 years of exploration next year, our ongoing partnership in the Galapagos reflects exactly what HX stands for: connecting guests with the world’s most remarkable environments through responsible, science-focused travel,” said Gebhard Rainer, HX’s CEO.
HX offers four Galapagos itineraries which start and end in either Quito or Guayaquil: the 9-day Eastern Route, 14-day Eastern Route + Machu Picchu, the 11-day Northern & Western Route, and the 16-day Northern & Western Route + Machu Picchu.
Bookings for the 2027 and 2028 season will open on Dec. 22, 2025, followed shortly by the launch of the brand’s standalone Galapagos brochure in January 2026.
HX has operated carbon-neutral expedition cruises in the Galapagos onboard the 50-cabin Santa Cruz II since 2022.
