Millennial Interest in Cruising On the Rise

Millennial Interest in Cruising On the Rise

Graph: YouGov

While Baby Boomers continue to generate the most demand for cruises, Millennials are quickly gaining ground, according to the “Global Travel Profiles” report compiled by YouGov, an international online research and analytics group.

According to YouGov’s travel sector head, the proportion of Millennials who think of cruising as one of their favorite vacation types has increased steadily over the last three years.

“For Gen X and Millennials, cruises with an experimental edge, meaning offering shareable, Instagram-worthy, or family-centric experiences, have a prime opportunity to capture these burgeoning markets,” said Eva Steward, head of YouGov’s travel sector.

Demand from Gen X travelers remains steady but sits third among the age demographics.

Data was collected from among 13,440 U.S. adults between Dec. 2020 and Jan. 2024.
