MSC Cruises to Sail Seaside, Divina from Port Canaveral

MSC Cruises will sail from Florida’s Port Canaveral for the first time later this year.

The cruise line on Monday announced that it is moving both MSC Seaside and MSC Divina to Port Canaveral, where both ships will stay year round. Seaside will move to the port in November, staying until March 2021, when Divina will take its place.

MSC will offer Caribbean and Bahamas sailings from the port, including sailings that include stops at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, the cruise line’s private island in the Bahamas.

 “As we look toward the upcoming year, we are eager to bring our guests back to sea when the time is right, with health and safety as a top priority, following guidance from national and international health authorities. We are also excited to expand our presence in North America with new and enriching cruise experiences,” Rubén Rodriguez, President of MSC Cruises USA, said in a statement announcing the news.

MSC will offer three, four, and seven-night sailings on both ships, featuring ports of call such as George Town, Cozumel, Nassau, and more.

Currently, MSC and the rest of the ocean cruise industry is on hold through at least Sept. 15 following a CLIA announcement from Friday. MSC said on Monday that it plans to unveil a new set of health and safety protocol soon that will “encompass every aspect of the guest’s journey…while preserving the uniqueness of the guest experience.”
