MSC Group Unveils Sandy Cay: A Luxury Bahamas Retreat for Cruise Guests
by Marsha Mowers
MSC Group has announced Sandy Cay, a new luxury private island destination adjacent to Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve in the Bahamas set to open in 2028.
Designed exclusively for MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys guests, Sandy Cay will offer a more secluded retreat meant to complement the Company’s existing private island destination. Named for its aragonite sands which are among the purest and brightest in the world, Sandy Cay is designed to offer a more intimate yet elevated and immersive experience.
MSC Cruises recently announced enhancements to Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, which will introduce new facilities and experiences designed to further enhance the guest offering on the island. Those enhancements include additional dining venues, new beach concepts for families and adults, expanded relaxation areas, and new ways for guests to engage with marine conservation through immersive experiences.
With the addition of Sandy Cay, MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys say they continue to elevate their private destination offering.
