Where one hand giveth, another taketh away. While Norwegian Cruise Line has massive improvements planned for its Great Stirrup Cay private island, including the addition of a pier and expansive pool, the line also just announced that as of March 2026, its shipboard drink package will no longer be valid on Great Stirrup Cay.
Instead of the shipboard package, cruisers can either pay per purchase or they will be able to buy a new beverage package that will be created exclusively for use on Great Stirrup Cay. More details are expected in the coming months.
“As we look to transform the on-island experience, we have evaluated our policies and made the decision that shipboard beverage packages will no longer be applicable for drinks on Great Stirrup Cay,” said a NCL spokesperson in a statement to consumer website CruiseCritic.com.
Free beverages, including water, iced tea, and select juices will continue to be available.
