Norwegian Cruise Line’s David Herrera Steps Down as President

David Herrera, who has led Norwegian Cruise Line as president since taking over from Harry Sommer two years ago, is stepping down, effective immediately, Seatrade Cruise News is reporting.
Sommer, who holds the role of president and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings will resume the role of NCL president while the company searches for a replacement.
According to Seatrade, the news of the changeover was reported in a filing.
NCL shared the following statement from Harry Sommer with TMR: “Aligned with our continued strategic evolution and focus on our Charting the Course Strategy and 2026 targets, NCL is entering a transformative chapter in its nearly 60-year history that will elevate the guest experience even further… I am excited to work closer with the team at NCL to capitalize on the many opportunities ahead as we embark on our search for the next leader who will guide the brand into the future.
“David Herrera has been a dedicated member of our leadership team, and we are grateful for his decade of contributions to NCL’s growth and success. We wish him the very best in his next chapter.”
Herrera had been with Norwegian Cruise Line and Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings for 10 years.
