Norwegian Encore to Undergo Multi-Million Dollar Revitalization
by Dori Saltzman /Norwegian Encore is headed for a two-week dry dock that will see it undergo a multi-million dollar revitalization that will see it lose several venues in order to make room for new ones. Highlights of the changes coming to Encore include the addition of Spice H2O, brand-new The Haven suites, 24 new balcony cabins, and the Mediterranean specialty restaurant, Palomar, among others.
Two popular dining venues, Cagney’s Steakhouse and Teppanyaki, will also be expanded by taking over Los Lobos’ footprint on deck eight and Coco’s on deck six. Ocean Blue will be converted into Palomar.
“Our guests’ wants and needs are at the forefront of every decision that we make, and enhancing Norwegian Encore with more of the experiences they value showcases our commitment to just that,” said David J. Herrera, president of Norwegian Cruise Line. “
Spice H2O
In order to make room for Spice H2O, NCL is removing the laser tag arena from the top of the ship. The space will feature a new design that combines elements of the Spice H2O from the Breakaway-Plus class with those from Infinity Beach on the Prima-class ships. The 18-year-old and older venue will feature multiple hot tubs, eight large day beds surrounded by cooling pools, and a large bar.
New suites and cabins
The existing Premier Owner’s Suites with Large Balcony in Norwegian Encore’s The Haven will be expanded from two bedrooms to three. Additionally, these two suites will include three and a half bathrooms; a fully renovated living room, master bedroom, and outdoor balcony furniture; and a new separate dining room.
Similar to the recent refurbishment on Norwegian Joy earlier this year, Norwegian Encore will also emerge from dry dock with an additional 24 new balcony staterooms and two club balcony staterooms by repurposing a portion of the ship’s Observation Lounge.
Norwegian Encore’s dry dock will last from Nov. 18 to Dec. 2, 2024.
