Oceania Cruises Postpones Launch of Allura

Just a few weeks after Princess Cruises announced the launch of Sun Princess will be delayed, Oceania Cruises has been forced to do the same for its next new ship – Allura.

In a letter to travel advisors, the line said it has been informed by the shipyard that Allura’s delivery will need to be delayed. As a result the first six scheduled sailings have been canceled.

“We are as disappointed as you are yet will eagerly await her July arrival,” the line wrote.

Canceled sailings are: June 8, 15, 25, and July 7, 17, and 29, 2025.

Oceania gave no reason for the delay and offered no comment when asked by Travel Market Report.

Travel advisors and guests impacted by this delay are being notified, and guess will automatically receive a 100% refund, as well as a special rebook offer on a future sailing.

The vessels’ new inaugural voyage will be a 12-day Athens to Monte Carlo sailing departing on July 24, 2025. The voyage opens for sale on Feb. 12 but guests who were booked on one of the now-canceled sailings will have early access to the new inaugural.
