Sea Cloud Cruises’ 2027 President’s Cruise will Sail to Spain and Portugal

Sea Cloud Cruises’ president Kevin Smith will join guests during the 2027 President’s Cruise aboard Sea Cloud Spirit. The sailing will explore Spain and Portugal and will feature an exclusive Guggenheim experience.

This will be the first President’ Cruise for Smith, who was promoted to the role of president in July of this year. The sailing, from July 20-27, 2027, will coincide with the first anniversary of his appointment.

Smith and his wife will join guests for dinners, evenings on deck, and at a special sundowner, with time dedicated to exchanging stories and ideas during the voyage.

“When the crew begins setting the sails, everyone on deck looks up,” said Smith. “It’s quite a sight and a reminder that nobody moves a ship like this forward alone. And that’s true for Sea Cloud Cruises, too. Our team makes the experience what it is, and our guests have a real part in shaping what comes next. Christina and I are looking forward to welcoming everyone aboard and spending a wonderful week together under sail.”

Looking toward the anniversary, Smith has two leading priorities for Sea Cloud Cruises in the Americas: expanding the brand to a broader audience of luxury travelers who may not traditionally consider a cruise and strengthening relationships with travel advisors.

Exclusive Guggenheim Visit

The itinerary includes calls at Gijón, A Coruña and Vigo in Spain, and Porto (Leixões) in Portugal, with opportunities to discover Oviedo, Santiago de Compostela, and the Islas Cíes. A day under full sails showcases the ship’s traditional seamanship, while a scenic passage along the Tagus River brings the voyage to Lisbon.

Among the voyage’s special highlights is an exclusive evening at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, where guests can experience Frank Gehry’s landmark architecture and selected artworks in a private, after-hours setting, away from the regular crowds.
