Southwest Airlines Extends Nashville Schedule

Southwest Airlines today announced that it has extended its flight schedule in and out of Nashville through Aug. 5, 2019, giving the airline its biggest schedule ever out of Music City.

Starting on June 9, 2019, Southwest will offer daily nonstop service between Nashville and two California cities: Burbank and San Jose. The carrier’s seasonal Sunday service between Nashville and Omaha, Nebraska, will also be extended through Aug. 5, 2019.

Despite Record Disruptions, Most Travelers Still Don’t Opt for Insurance

Starting on June 10, 2019, Southwest is adding more flights between some of its more popular routes out of Music City. Its Boston service will increase to four daily flights; its Detroit service will include three flights daily; its Las Vegas service will be four flights daily; its Minneapolis service will increase to two flight daily; its San Diego service will be three flights daily; and its St. Louis service will offer four flights daily.

The previous service between Nashville and Norfolk, Virginia, along with Nashville and Seattle, will also return starting in June.

According to Southwest, the new flights are being introduced because of a growing demand for Nashville service.

“These new flights are a result of the demand we’re seeing from customers as they ask for more options to the places that matter most in their lives,” said Andrew Watterson, Southwest Airlines’ executive vice president and chief revenue officer. “As Nashville’s economy thrives, we want to do what we can to be the region’s top choice for air travel, providing that service with a smile and the heart that can only be found at Southwest Airlines.”

In total, Southwest will offer 124 departures a day on weekdays and 133 departures on Sundays from Nashville.
