Global Affairs Canada, the department of Canada’s government that manages diplomatic and consular relations, wants travel advisors to know that it has resources to help them.
Global Affairs developed a website, Travel.gc.ca, in order to help both travel advisors and the general public. The website has a database of advice and advisories for Canadian’s traveling abroad, information on the wait times at the Canada-U.S. border, contact information for Canadian embassies and consulates around the world, and much more.
“Our goal is a common one,” a Global Affairs representative wrote to Travel Market Report, “to make travelers consider their safety and security when going away.”
The website also offers two dozen print publications that advisors can get shipped to them for free, including, “Bon Voyage, But … Essential Information for Canadian Travelers”; more travel-specific information like, “Advice for Cruise Travellers”; and other handy tips such as, “Her Own Way — A Woman’s Safe-Travel Guide.”
